Where did Panmure bridge enjoy a hot day? Well we ended up at Eastern Beach for our 2013 school picnic. Everyone had fun swimming in the deep salty sea and the year 7 and 8 students mostly enjoyed kayaking and doing activities with the kayaks.
We had been put into four different groups, where one group at a time goes out to sea, I was put into the first group I ran to get changed and headed straight for the water my feet touched the water I started shivering because the water was cold like ice.
I took my kayak and paddled out far, at first we had to make sure we would stick together for the instructions so none of us went too far away. Before doing fun activities we had a race around a pink buoy, backwards and forwards using the paddle to turn us around,
Next was the part when most of us struggled. What we had to do was stand up in the kayaks and walk to the next one with a partner that had their name called too. Most of us held the kayaks still. Some people made it to the other kayak really quickly without making them wobble. The last two went past and then it was time for a game of tiggy before going back to shore. Then that was time up we all raced back jumped out and went for a swim.
Most of us didn’t stay in long because the water was so cold I wanted to run back out. Then I thought “that was it for me” and got out and got changed and sat with my friends. The 2013 picnic was awesome because of the kayaking and also going swimming! WOW what a fun day that was at Eastern Beach.
