On a fine day on 7 February 1863 the HMS Orpheus – carrying naval stores – approached Manukau Harbour. Seeing it was off course to cross the bar, the onshore signalman motioned to change direction. But the warning was too late, and the ship ran aground. As the sea got heavier, it began to break up. Lifeboats were swamped. With the crew clinging helplessly to the rigging, the ship’s masts fell one by one into the sea. Of the 259 people on board, 189 drowned. It remains New Zealand’s worst maritime disaster.

Mr Phillips was working, well he was supposed to be.  His briefcase lay open at his feet papers scattered everywhere, covering the carpet, sofa and coffee table.  A lamp with a dying bulb sat on a small table in the corner, its flickering light casting a dying glow across the room.

He was not working though, he was snoring.  The papers piled around him, his chest rising and falling gently with the rhythm of his  breathing then the lamp rattled.

Mr Phillip jolted awake, looking around for the source of the commotion. His eyes fell on the lamp the pull-chain still swinging to and fro then his eyes traveled downward.

A small lump rose from the floor, covered by the carpet. He rubbed his eyes trying to decide if it was a trick of the failing light or something real and touchable.

Unable to figure it out, he slowly rose off the couch, shedding papers like a dog. Edging forward, he kept his eyes on the lamp.  Just then it felt like a second face had shown and had freaked him out as it was blur.

After staring at it for a long while, he  shook his head sure it was only a hallucination he stepped behind  the couch, only to stop suddenly as the lamp rattled again the light flickered and died, the bulb finally using its last life.

As much as he was very terrified he really wanted to make the object go away, he couldn’t help it only to be even more terrified.  Mr Phillips sought out a spare bulb.  He unscrewed the old one and stuck the new one in its place, whining as the harsh new light burned his eyes. He looked under the table and the lump was gone.

This is the instructions we use to help us how to use Adobe Photoshop CS4
1: Click on the spotlight

2: Type in photoshop

3: Click on adobe photoshop Cs4

4: Click on file then open.

5: Click on the desktop icon

6: Choose the picture view

7: Click on the photo of yourself

8: Click on open

9: Click on window then workspace then essentials (default)

10: Drag the background layer into the create a new layer icon which is next to the mini rubbish bin

11: Change the opacity of the background copy layer to 80%
12: Click on the background layer and close the eye on the left to make the layer invisible.

13: Click on the create a new layer icon

14: you should have three layers

15: Make sure your clicked onto layer one

16: Drag the bottom right hand corner of the image to stretch it out.

17: Click on the zoom button(magnifying glass) in the left toolbar, to zoom into the page.

18: Click on the option key and the zoom button to zoom out of the image.

19: Click on the brush tool on the left toolbar

20: Change the brush size to three in the menu bar.

21: Set the foreground to black and click on ok.

22: Use the brush tool to draw the outline of your photo including face, facial features, Clothes, hair

23: Click on the paint bucket tool on the left toolbar.

24: Set the foreground colour to the colour you want to use.

25: Use the paint bucket to fill in different part of your sketch.

26; Click on file the save as.

27: Make sure to save your sketch to the desktop.

28: Make sure that you are logged in to your google drive.

29: Click on the upload button.

30: Click on file and then locate your sketch on the desktop.
